Hello,

My name is Mathew Iantorno (he/him), and I am a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. My research focuses on how forms of retail automation—from automats to artificial intelligence—reconfigure labour practices, consumer responsibility, and public space.

My work traverses media studies, consumer culture, and science and technology studies. Through my research and accompanying public scholarship, I advocate for accessible and affordable retail options for Canadians.
